Ms. Tremp graduated from Suffolk University School of Law in 2006. While in law school she worked as a legal assistant for a firm specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice. She was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in December, 2006. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston University. Ms. Tremp is originally from Huntington Beach, California, and has been living in the Boston area since 1996.

Mr. Nason is also “of counsel” to the firm of Curtin, Murphy & O’Reilly, P.C.,

which maintains offices in Boston and Fall River.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

Mr. Nason is a recognized expert in the field of Massachusetts and National workers’ compensation law, and is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbard.

On March 2, 2007, Mr. Nason was inducted as a "Fellow" into the "College Of Workers Compensation Lawyers."

On September 1, 2007, Mr. Nason assumed the position of Chair of the TIPS “Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Law”, and was also appointed to the "Public Relations Standing Committee."

In August, 2006, Mr. Nason was appointed to the ABA’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice (TIPS) Section on “Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Law” as Chair-elect, and its web master. He is also a member of the TIPS “General Committee Board”, and a 2007-2008 Member of the "Public Relations Special Standing Committee".

Appointed Vice-Chair and Webmaster for the ABA’s National Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Committee, a subsection of the Tort and insurance Practice Section (TIPS) 2004 – 2005. In September, 2006, Mr. Nason was appointed to the ABA’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice (TIPS) Section on “Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Law” as Chair-elect, and its web master. He is also a member of the TIPS “General Committee Board.”

 Mr. Nason was a member of the1986 Transition Team for the Rules Committee of the Department of Industrial Accidents. In this capacity Mr. Nason assisted the DIA in the drafting and promulgation of department regulations.

From 1983 – 1990 Mr. Nason was a working member of the Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation Reform Task Force, which was spearheaded by the Associated Industries of Massachusetts. In this capacity Mr. Nason worked closely with former AIM President John Gould, and then general counsel, Paul Meagher, Esq. (now President of the Massachusetts Workers Compensation and Inspection Bureau).

In 1991 Mr. Nason was selected as a consultant to the working group for the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Commerce and Labor (co-chaired by Senator Lois Pines and House Representative Suzanne Bump) relative to the 1991 Workers' Compensation Reform Bill. In this capacity Mr. Nason attended virtually every meeting with all parties concerned with the Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation System. In addition, Mr. Nason worked closely with Governor Weld’s staff, as well as the House and Senate leadership.

Participant in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons' study of medical approaches to Workers' Compensation reform, a national study;

Member of team of consultants to the DIA Medical Consultant Consortium, the DIA Rules Committee and the DIA Health Care Services Board Advisory Subgroup concerning treatment guidelines for the management of chronic pain syndrome & chronic neuromuscular skeletal injury;

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS:

            In 1992 – 1993 Mr. Nason was a registered Massachusetts lobbyist acting on behalf of the Zurich American Insurance Companies with regard to legislation concerning “24 hour health care plans” designed to protect both industrially and non-industrially injured workers. The legislation was sponsored by then House representative Peter Larkin.

            Since 1985 to date Mr. Nason has been a member of the Human Resources Committee for the Small Business Association of New England (SBANE), and is a contributing author to its Human Resources Guide(s).

Mr. Nason has successfully handled “Landmark” and other cases before the Massachusetts Appeals Court, The Supreme Judicial Court, and the Massachusetts Industrial Accident Reviewing Board. In addition, Mr. Nason has regularly been cited in appellate cases as a recognized authority in Workers’ Compensation Law.

  Mr. Nason successfully assisted in the formation and defense of the first Massachusetts Insurance Reciprocal Exchange for the insuring of Massachusetts’ employers in workers’ compensation. The concept was initiated by AIM and was known as the Massachusetts Employers’ Insurance Exchange (“MEIE”). The entity has since been converted to a traditional insurance company, now known as the AIM Insurance Company.

            Mr. Nason was one of the first Massachusetts attorneys to facilitate in the formation of Group self-insurance for workers’ compensation, and was exclusive defense counsel to the first and previously largest self-insurance group (“SIG), ManagedComp.

            Successfully represented the N.E. Patriots (under the Sullivan family and Victor Kiam’s ownership) in establishing a professional football player’s rights to workers’ compensation benefits.

            In 1992 Mr. Nason drafted Rhode Island legislation to facilitate the relocation of the Boston Bruins’ farm team from Maine to Rhode Island.

            Served as consultant/attorney to David Wetherell and Peter Mills in the formation of SoftTrend, Inc., which ultimately resulted in the formation of the CMGI companies.

Miscellaneous:        

In 1975 Mr. Nason taught at the Tufts University X-College. The course was entitled “The Supreme Court and Public Policy Formation.”

   In 1975 Mr. Nason was a salesman for the Cheshire division of the Xerox Corporation, and was among the top10 salesman nationwide.

Notable Charitable and Community Endeavors:

  In the 1990’s Mr. Nason served as a board member of the Newton Community Services, Inc.

In December 2001 Mr. Nason assisted the Tip Tree Society of New York in raising money for victims of the New York City Fire Department, Engine 16, Ladder No. 7 which lost 7 firemen in the 9/11 terrorist attack.

  In December 2002 Mr. Nason assisted the Tip Tree Society of New York in raising money for 9/11 victims of the New York City Police Department, 13^th Precinct.

  In December 2003 Mr. Nason assisted the Tip Tree Society of New York in raising money for the New York Restoration Project, an organization founded by Ms. Bette Midler.

In April 2004 Mr. Nason was a core member in raising money for the Fran Delaney Foundation in the fight against ALS, The National Alopecia Foundation, The Lexington/Honduras Project, and M.L. Carr’s charity, “Warm2Kids” (We are Role Models to Kids). This event was sponsored by the Goodtimer’s Softball Club in conjunction with the celebration of the commencement of our 31^st season as a team. The event included a dinner/dance and auction, followed by a charity softball game the next day between the Goodtimer’s and Bill “Spaceman” Lee and his All Stars.

Mr. Nason coached spring and fall girls’ soccer for the Lexington Youth Soccer Club, divisions 1 and 2, for 13 years.

            Mr. Nason coached Lexington Little League Girls’ Softball for 12 years, and also served as a Little League Board member and Softball Player Agent.

            Mr. Nason was a founding member of the Lexington Girls’ Basketball Association, which was successfully merged with the Lexington Boy’s Basketball program in 2003, and is now known as the Lexington Youth Basketball Association. Mr. Nason also coached girls’ basketball for 12 years.

Personal interests, activities, and Hobbies:

            Softball, sailing, tennis, golf, white water rafting on the Colorado River, travel, guitarist/singer, and photography.

            Mr. Nason has been a member of the Tufts Alumni Admissions Program (“TAAP”) since 1988. In this capacity Mr. Nason interviews prospective applicants to the Tufts University Schools of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the School of Engineering.
